Years ago in New York in a hospital lobby I came in contact with a
homeless man. He wore a torn raincoat. His blonde hair was straggly and
he had the most "piercing blue eyes" I had ever seen. He was staring at
me. I thought he was Jesus. I saw Jesus in him. I told my brother
Vinnie that the man was Jesus. He told me the man needed the can of soda
I had in my possession he needed the five cents deposit. I gave him my
soda can and he smiled at me. I made a promise then and there when I
returned to WI I would help the helpless. I did just that I met up with a
wonderful person named Judy Morrow. Together with her and a carpetner
named Joseph and many others we started Transitional Living Center. The
center houses families for ninety days and helps the occupants to help
themselves. This is my story this is my mission to "help others help
themselves". |
